Youtoo is starting its press release with the revolutionary claim, saying that for the first time in television history, viewers can be on television and participate in the programming with a few simple clicks. The name of the app/service is Youtoo Social TV and it allows viewers to record and submit videos through their iPhone or Android smartphone, and broadcast it on a national TV with audience of over 15 million! In just a few clicks, anyone can upload their “Fame Spot” (a 15-second video) and be on TV for free.
Of course, that’s just one part of the equation – the service also comes with other features, including:
- Tickers that allow for simultaneous running on mobile, Web and Cable TV PLUS sharing with Twitter and Facebook.
- Ability to follow, friend, share, check and mark as favorites in the same interface.
Sounds promising and really revolutionary. On the other hand, I’m not sure that many people want to watch amateur footage, though I could be wrong. We’ll see…
