According to an estimate by sources at upstream suppliers, Barnes & Noble should have so far taken delivery of one million units of Nook Tablet.
Apparently the bookstore chain has the Thanksgiving sales to thank for the success it experienced. OEM contractor Inventec, which is still sort of recovering from HP’s move to kill the TouchPad tablet (Inventec made the webOS tablet for HP), is one of the companies benefiting from Nook Tablet’s success.
Originally the market expected Barnes & Noble to pull in orders for 800,000 Nook Tablet units before year-end 2011…
Good to see things are working well for Barnes & Noble and that more people are embracing tablets. Now we wonder how Amazon’s tablet, Kindle Fire, will affect Nook Tablet’s sales. It’s only natural people don’t need more than a single tablet for all (or at least most) of their needs…
