Just in time for the Holiday season, ALK Technologies updated its CoPilot Live GPS navigation apps for iOS and Android devices.

First there’s the free map update that brings the latest NAVTEQ street maps to all CoPilot Live users throughout Europe. Moreover, it [update] also extends the number of roads on which CoPilot Live’s speed limit alert service is available, providing on-screen warnings if you are going too fast.

Alongside map update, the application also got a number of new features and improvements including:

  • Power saving mode – reduces the frequency of map display refreshing when navigating (very handy when you forget your in-car charger).
  • “I’m only stopping if it’s a…” – the app will now alert you about specific types of POIs on your route.
  • Music Player – integrated music controls (iOS only)
  • Improved “Just drive” mode – allows using of CoPilot Live without a particular destination in mind
  • Greater control over route calculation – new fastest vs. shortest route setting

CoPilot Live is available on iTunes and Android Market. The UK and Ireland version costs 24.99 GBP, Western Europe – 34.99 GBP, and whole of Europe – 39.99 GBP.
