Viper SmartStart — the mobile app that lets users start and control their car from the iPhone, Android or BlackBerry — is announcing version 3.0 this week at CES. The new version is said to bring the experience “to the next level,” featuring new cloud-connected car software for both Android and iPhone. At the same time, it takes all the original features such as remote start and unlock and ups the ante with new cloud based features.
Speaking of new features, Viper SmartStart 3.0 comes with:
- Directed Cloud Services (DCS) – alerting the driver of hazardous upcoming weather and vehicle diagnostics. Push notifications will tell the driver when to start warming up their car when the weather warrants.
- SmartSchedule – which tells users their daily routine.
- Ability to receive vehicle diagnostic information from select models of cars directly in the Viper app.
- Richer notifications which confirm that actions from the app have been carried out.
