Even though there are free navigation apps available in the Android Market, CoPilot keeps finding customers for its own software. The reason is pretty obvious – CoPilot is one of the best navigation solutions and free apps can’t match its feature list.
The company announced the overall 40% year on year rise in sales of its Android app (Q4 2011 vs Q4 2010), while also using the opportunity to share some interesting stats.
Which Android devices are being used by CoPilot users?
- Samsung Galaxy S2 is being used by over a fifth of all users, the HTC Desire comes in second with 7.5% of users, and the original Samsung Galaxy is being used by 7%.
- When it comes to Android tablets, some 10% of CoPilot Live Sat Nav users are running the app on such devices, including 4% on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and 3% on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
– Perhaps most interesting is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Note already accounts for over 5% of CoPilot Sat Nav users!
What version of Android are people using for navigation?
- The most popular version of Android for CoPilot Live users is 2.3.3 Gingerbread with over 50% of users.
- Unsurprisingly, Ice Cream Sandwich only accounts for about 5% of users, although it is expected to rise rapidly in 2012.
