Sky Go, the Sky TV service that allows users to watch live and archived content while on the go, will get a dedicated Android app later this month. Up until this point, the mobile service was available via browser and as a native iOS app.
According Sky, the application will work on a “selection of Android smartphones starting with Samsung Galaxy and HTC handsets,” though we guess pretty much any smartphone running Google’s mobile platform will do the job (but you never know). On the other hand, they may be targeting select devices to trial the service, and once it’s cleared out of all (most) bugs, it will be turned into a “general” app that sings along all smartphones and tablets.
Sky Go is available to Sky TV subscribers and allows them to watch all channels they have in their “TV package.” The mobile service is limited to two devices, with a web browser counting as one of those devices for every computer you use it on. That can be a pain, but luckily there’s an option to customize which devices you’ll be using to access Sky Go…
