Mobile social network for games GREE hits 190 million users

GREE, one of the largest mobile social gaming networks, announced its plan to hit over $1 billion in profit this year ($1,050,682,300 – $1,182,017,588) and over $2 billion in net sales ($2,101,364,601- $2,232,699,888).

You may haven’t heard about GREE before, but you’re probably familiar with OpenFeint. Well, GREE has acquired OpenFeint in April 2010 and is in the midst of expanding to the U.S. and the rest of the world. Already, the company has 9 offices globally, while the total number of registered users has reached approximately 190 million. Their next step is to launch the GREE global platform by the last quarter of this year…

Now how this affects a mobile gamer in every one of us? For one thing we expect to see GREE continuing to compete with the likes of Tapjoy, supporting further development of new and porting of existing popular games to the Android platform. We’ll keep you well informed which games are coming as a result of GREE’s activities in this area…
