If you’ve been following our coverage of SXSW, you know that it’s not your average conference but it does have a traditional conference floor. I took a walk through the floor and wanted to share some of these with you.
The SXSW Interactive festival is all about the intersection between art, technology and creativity, so you have a ton of big-name companies trying to get in on it. Some are able to pull it off better than others.
The show floor is littered with cute booths aimed to draw your eye and to be amusing. While there are a glut of “social marketing” or advertising companies, there are also a bunch of fun application makers and music-related vendors.
Otterbox had a fun booth showing off its cases, as it erected a gigantic Plinko-like board to show off how protective its covers can be. Onlookers could guess on what number the case-covered phone would land on and potentially win an Otterbox product.
While it was still quite early in the day when I walked around the conference, you can be sure that the show floor will be full of beer in the not-too-distant future. Like I said, it’s not your traditional conference.
