The fact that there are already quite a few do-it-yourself app maker services on the market doesn’t stop the folks behind App Express. The market is huge, they think there’s room for everyone and they’re out with their own solution, unveiled at the floor of SXSW.

Aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, App Express makes app creation easy and cost-effective, while at the same time offering some powerful features, including:

  • Appointment scheduling – display availability and schedule appointments
  • Payments – invoice and receive payments on the go
  • Messaging – for real-time communication
  • Sharing – sharing, following and liking come included (Facebook and Twitter integration)
  • Deals – loyalty and couponing system
  • Information – for providing contact information and menu of services

Once you’re done with editing the content, you’ll get two apps, one for iOS and the other one for Android-based devices.

As for what kind of business are well suited for App Express, they say it’s service providers, retailers and “high-value vertical industry businesses” like attorneys, accountants, insurance agents and employment recruiters…
