Verizon Wireless is about to release a new firmware update for its QWERTY keyboard equipped Motorola Droid Pro smartphone. Firmware version 4.7.3.XT610 doesn’t bring the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich), but a number of important fixes and updates, including:
- Improved security with DigiNotar security patch.
- Device is enabled with the Wireless Alerting System.
- Device will no longer lockup or reset after an update, nor will automatically power on after it has been powered off.
- Pressing the spacebar key will no longer cause the device to lockup.
- Improvements to keyboard backlighting.
- Smart Forwarding will no longer cause forwarded messages to remain in the Outbox.
- V CAST Apps is now updated to version 2.00.54, and VZ Navigator to version 7.2.0.461.
Verizon failed to mention any dates, so as far as we know you may be getting this software as we speak. If you don’t, there’s no reason to worry – you’ll get it in the next few days or weeks…
