Nokia has officially unveiled its first Windows Phones (2 of them) for China – Lumia 800C and Lumia 610C. The two phones are heading to China Telecom and are therefore changed to sing along their network. Yup – that “C” doesn’t just stand for “China,” but also for CDMA.
As far as I’ve understood, aside from the radio change, Lumia 610C and Lumia 800C are identical with their international (without “C”) counterparts, the latter being the better device. However, Nokia will bundle some special apps and content with the two smartphones, while also offering 100,000 free downloads of the hit gaming titles Fruit Ninja and PVZ through the Nokia Collection in Marketplace. Guess that should do the trick to pull users toward the Finnish company’s products (rather than some Android-based ones).
The Nokia 800C will be available for purchase in April through China Telecom’s Tianyi FlyYoung shops; Nokia brand stores; China’s top chain electronics stores like Suning, Gome, Funtalk, D.Phone, and CentreYou; as well as regional channels and online shops such as 189.cn and hicdma.com. Off-contract it will sell for 3599 RMB (about $571). As for the Nokia Lumia 610, is arriving to China Telecom’s portfolio in Q2 2012…
