Samsung has managed to get Maria Sharapova to its side with the hot tennis player already promoting the Galaxy Note is Russia. Sharapova, who was a Sony Ericsson brand ambassador in the past and before that helped spread some Motorola RAZR love, signed a deal with the Korean company to help them position their products in Russia and CIS. At this stage, it’s not clear whether this partnership will extend to the rest of the world and for the time being we have the lovely tennis player posing with Sammy’s phablet along with colleagues from the Russian national women’s tennis team.
Not sure what should make of it. Is it a sign that Samsung is getting Sony’s customers? Not really, though the Korean giant is steadily conquering the smartphone maker and is now the second largest player after Apple. We’ll see whether Maria Sharapova can help them continue riding this wave…
