Shopkick, the location-based shopping app that rewards shoppers simply for walking into stores and interacting with products, is teaming-up with ExxonMobile to allow its users to get something in return for pumping gasoline at more than 375 Exxon or Mobil-branded retail locations in and around Miami, New York City and Washington D.C.
ExxonMobil wants to use Shopkick to “strengthen consumer loyalty” while getting some additional customers along the way. If you recall, we’ve already told you that last year Shopkick drove $110 million in revenue for its partners, including companies like Target, Kraft, Best Buy, Procter & Gamble and American Eagle.
The mobile app, available for iOS and Android devices, can detect a Shopkick signal emitted from a patent-pending device located in each participating store to reward (deliver the so called “kick”) the customer for visiting a participating Shopkick partner. These “kicks” can then be redeemed for in-store gift cards, song downloads, movie tickets, Facebook Credits, donations to 30 different causes and charities and more…
