Although we haven’t talked about BiteHunter when it was initially released, we decided to give it some space now that it’s in version 2.0. The real-time search engine for dining deals does just that – allows you to see where you can get best bang for the buck for a launch, dinner, brunch or whatever.

Version 2.0 introduces two new features, including:

  • New UI with a “eye-catching photo grid” that relies on a special algorithm to define the top deals for each user. By cleaning the clutter, the app now lists “Top Deals” first based on location, highest reviews and most popular user ratings. Moreover, searches can be filtered by selecting and deselecting cuisine type, since results are already based on time of day and location.
  • BiteBuy – which is a one-click purchasing option that works without ever leaving the application. Purchases are secure and you’ll be asked for your credit card details only once.

Finally, in case you wonder BiteHunter gets its deals from all around the web, scattering social networks and daily deal websites to deliver the goods. So if you’re a frequent restaurant goer, get it by all means. Unfortunately (for Android users) at the moment it’s an iPhone thing only…
