Acer has started rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Iconia A100 tablet, with users around the Interwebs reporting their device is prompting them to “take action.” After the process is done, this 7 incher runs software build 1.014.00_WW_GEN1 with a kernel version of 2.6.39.4+.
We’re not sure whether some Acer/Iconia-specific things are included with this new firmware or it’s the “basic” Android 4.0. In any case, it’s good to see the Taiwanese company taking good care of its existing customers and we’re hoping the Iconia A500 owners will get their updates in no time, as well…
As a reminder, the Acer Iconia A100 rocks a 7-inch 1024×600 pixels touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity, NVidia Tegra 2 processor (dual-core), 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing one, and a mini HDMI port.
