Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE landing on June 2nd – for realz

After a delay in customs, the EVO 4G LTE is now officially cleared and will be available in Sprint stores on June 2nd. That’s right, this Saturday you’ll be able to walk into a Sprint store and claim  the hot new handset for yourself.

Essentially a tweaked HTC One X, the EVO 4G LTE is a powerful handset that should do the likes of the EVO 4G and EVO 3D proud. It may not be anywhere near as sexy as the One X but it still packs a punch in the hardware department, along with some features we’d come to expect from the EVO line – like a kickstand.

One thing we’re still not over is the back side of the device. It’s a salad of ugly, of which only Sprint would want to achieve, but it does look more like an EVO than the One X does.

Aesthetics aside, the handset is just as powerful as the US One X, sporting a 4.7 inch Super LCD 2 HD display, dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 8 megapixel camera, and all the bells and whistles you’ve come to expect in a high-end smartphone today. When Sprint rolls out a network that’s worthy, you’ll also be able to take advantage of the handset’s LTE support.

On the software side of things, expect the EVO 4G LTE to rock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with the latest version of HTC’s custom user interface, the Sense UI. The streamlined experience is definitely the best version of the custom UI to date, which cuts out a lot of the fat that was found in previous iterations.

Make sure to read our official review of the handset here!
