Huawei released an Ice Cream Sandwich update for its Ideos X5 U8800 Pro smartphone. However, it’s not an over-the-air update, but one that requires downloading some software from the Chinese company’s website. If you own that phone, you should hit this link and follow instructions provided on the page.
Before visiting that page, it’s important to add that this isn’t the original Ideos X5 U8800 — the “Pro” version rocks a faster 1GHz processor, rather than the one clocked at 800MHz found in the older model (which in turn won’t get Android 4.0).
Now we’re glad to see Huawei supporting its existing customers but would be even happier if there were faster to launch new products like the Ascend D Quad, which was announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and has yet to be released anywhere…
