Samsung has silently started rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich update for its Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet. I say “silently” since it’s not an over-the-air affair but the one that requires Samsung’s Kies software running on your PC. If you don’t want to mess with Kies, you can always wait for the OTA update, which is usually released a week or so after (though you never know).
Unfortunately, aside from standard Ice Cream Sandwich features, we’re not sure what’s all included in the update. It’s safe to guess some of the things have been polished and some bugs fixed to make for a more stable and faster experience.
Finally, if you still don’t see the new firmware in Kies — cause it’s released in stages — you can always grab it from SamFirmware’s website and then manually flash it on your tablet. I suggest waiting for the OTA update, but it’s your call.
