According to court documents made public in the Apple versus Samsung case, Samsung is working on an oversized, LTE-enabled tablet with the codename P10. As reported by The Verge, the documents suggest the tablet would include a 11.8-inch display that pushes the envelope on the tablet form factor. It’s resolution is 2560 x 1600 pixels, which would make it retina-quality (256ppi) and push it past the resolution of notebooks that are a similar size.
Court documents claim the device is part of Samsung’s 2012 product lineup, but there are no other details that suggest this tablet will make its way to the market this year. That being said, Samsung is expected to unveil a new Galaxy Note 10.1 or Galaxy Note II tablet at an event in mid-August. If it has an 11.8-incher under its sleeve, perhaps the company will use the event to introduce the device to the world.
