Owners of the international Droid RAZR need to rejoice. Motorola is finally rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) updates to the overseas version of the phone. Starting now, all the people who own the HSPA-based RAZR (the XT910) can expect some ICS goodness in their life. We don’t know exactly which countries are receiving the upgrade first, but we do have word that a user from on Tesco’s network has provided proof (below) that suggest the UK is part of the first batch.
Surprisingly, this is pretty good timing from Motorola, as the company just recently delivered Ice Cream Sandwich to those of us in the states. Our overseas buddies can now expect similar ICS features like Face Unlock, improved voice control and a new Direct Access Lock Screen, which lets customers open apps like the camera, messaging, and dialer right from the lock screen. The update is coming so make sure you keep a close eye out for it. If you’re the impatient type, continue to hit settings and system updates on your phone — who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky.
Who out there owns the HSPA-based international version of the RAZR? Did you receive your upgrade to Android 4.0? If so, how do you like it so far?
