Yesterday we talked about the release of a phone set to hit China called the Xiaomi Phone 2. The phone is an impressive device that rocks some incredible features and specs. The list of specs include a 4.3-inch 720p IPS display by Sharp, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core chip, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2GB RAM and 16GB memory. By the way, the phone is said to be powered by Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) with its MIUI custom user interface skin out the box. At the time, we didn’t expect to see the handset roam outside of China, but it turns out it will.
According to a “reliable source” of Engadget, the Xiaomi Phone 2 might be U.K. bound next year. The source wasn’t too keen on specifics, but the tech site believes the phone may see the light of day sometime in the first half of 2013. It’ll be interesting to see if the Xiaomi company could pull off this rollout, considering how small it is. That being said, since the phone maker was successful at scoring lots of funding, we think the Chinese-based manufacturer shouldn’t have any roadblocks preventing it from hitting the United Kingdom next year.
Remember, this phone is only $310, so there has to be a market for it.
