We already know Huawei is getting serious in its plans to dominate the smartphone market. To that end, they’re preparing to additionally beef-up the Ascend P1 ahead of the UK launch. The version of the device British users will be able to buy will get a minor update that will make the phone feel “premium.” In addition, the only model that will be available to the Brits rocks a bigger 1800mAh battery. We guess this also means that the phone won’t be super-thin, but will still be thin enough for a majority of users (except those who expected otherwise after reading reports from this year’s CES).
Anyway, we’ll get more information pretty soon when we’ll also know the price of the Ascend P1. If I had to guess, carriers and phone retailers will offer it for free to anyone willing to commit on a two-year 25 GBP/month contract, making for a great deal…
UPDATE: Vodafone offers the Huawei Ascend P1 for free on 26 GBP/month plan.
