Sprint Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S rumored to get Jelly Bean this week

For those of you out there who own either one of Sprint’s Nexus devices, it may be time for you to rejoice. Rumor has it, that Samsung is readying Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) updates to go out this week to the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. The folks over at Android Central had a reliable source drop the news to them about a potentially imminent release of the newest version of Android. Apparently, build FH05 will be for the Galaxy Nexus, and JRO03R for the Nexus S.

Software updates for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (L700) and Nexus S 4G will be available beginning Thursday, 9.6.12. Galaxy Nexus Software Version: FH05 Nexus S Software Version: JRO03R Software updates will be pushed to all handsets via Google. Customers cannot initiate a download on their own.

Upgrades Device Operating System to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Fastest and smoothest version of Android released Better search experience Expandable, actionable notifications A smarter keyboard And more!


We dug for our own confirmation through our source, but got no definitive answer on the matter. That said, our source told us Samsung is mum about the leak of a Jelly Bean update for this week. We’re guessing that a few updates could begin trickling out soon.
