Apple took to the stage at the Yerba Buena Center and introduced a handful of new products including the new iPhone, iPod and more. Here is a full rundown of the goodies coming soon to Apple retail shelves:
iPhone 5 : the iPhone is a step from the iPhone 4S. It features a 4-inch display, LTE connectivity, a new 8-megapixel, backside illuminated camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and more. It also has the new, smaller dock connector and bottom-speaker design. It’ll go on sale September 21 with a starting price of $199.
iOS 6 : Apple will ship iOS 6 on September 19th. It will include Passbook, a new Maps app, Siri enhancements and more. It’ll be pre-installed on the iPhone 5 and is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4/4s and the iPad 2/3.
iTunes 11 : Apple revamped its iTunes app with support for iCloud, a mini player and new edge-to-edge design. It’ll be available to download in October.
iPod nano : The iPod nano was completely “renanoed,” according to Apple. The player now has a 2.5-inch, multi-touchscreen display, and Bluetooth 4.0. It’s super-thin and rectangular-shaped now.
iPod touch : The iPod touch got a major overhaul that has brought it closer to the iPhone 5. The new iPod touch will have a 4-inch retina display, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, wifi-triangulation Maps, front-facing FaceTime camera with 72P HD video and built-in Nike + support. On the back is a 5-megapixel iSight camera and a button for he iPod touch loop. Just like the iPhone, it has a Lightning connector an bottom-facing speakers.
