We’ve already told you Microsoft will soon rename Windows Phone Marketplace to Windows Phone Store. Alongside the name change, the company will also roll out a number of changes to the site, with folks in Australia and New Zealand first being able to see them.
You’ll notice a new cleaner design with homepage featuring news from around the web alongside latest and/or hottest apps. The Marketplace menu option was changed to Apps + Games, so that customers “know where to find downloads for their phone.” However, the big improvements are in the app search and app lists. From now on, the Bing-powered search will take into account typos, while also allowing you to easily find similar apps and apps in same genre. Finally, with Top Free, Top Paid and Best Rated – you’ll get even more options to find the app you’re looking for. These new designations will initially be available in the online store with phones getting the same functionality later in the year…
