The successor to the original Samsung Stratosphere, Galaxy Stratosphere II has been officially unveiled by Verizon Wireless and it’s like the Galaxy S II with full side-sliding QWERTY keyboard (and a slightly smaller display). If this was happening last year, I would be super excited – now I want the Galaxy S III with physical keyboard.
Specs wise, the new phone sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4G LTE connectivity support, NFC, global connectivity (meaning that a GSM radio is also included), while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show.
Folks purchasing the Stratosphere II will also be able to rent or purchase movies from the Samsung Media Hub… As for when you can get it and how much it will cost, Verizon said we should expect the new Stratosphere “in the coming weeks” for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
