The soon-to-be-launched Huawei Ascend Mate has been put on pre-order, with (at least) one Chinese online store selling the phablet in advance for $575. That’s a fair price and we’re sure the figure will go further down in the next few weeks and months.
If you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that the Ascend Mate is made to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note II, packing a huge 6.3-inch 720p HD screen, quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, dual cameras (8-megapixel on the back), HSPA, Wi-Fi, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and so on. It’s not a phone everyone will want, cause it can hardly fit an average guy’s pockets; rather, it’s made for folks with big pockets or those who don’t mind carrying their mobile phone in a bag (or something). In any case, we’re glad that Huawei hasn’t overprice the Ascend Mate and are looking forward to see other OEMs pricing their phablets accordingly…
