HTC is making some changes in its organization by creating a new “emerging devices” division, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The division will focus on increasing the company’s presence in the U.S. market, as well as improving distribution strategies across the globe and increasing innovation.

“With the success of the One, we have many new opportunities both to expand current sales as well as to enter new distribution channels with new business models,” – HTC CEO Peter Chou via the Wall Street Journal

According to the report, HTC North America President Mike Woodward will lead the newly created division. HTC made another move, with CEO Peter Chou announcing that Jason Mackenzie, currently president of global sales, will be stepping up as president of HTC North America.

The reorganization comes as HTC is facing slow financial performance, and comes on the heels of some rough times for the company. Although the HTC One is enjoying popularity among smartphone customers, HTC is still facing stock prices at lows not seen since 2005.
