Archos GamePad 2 caught the FCC

Looks like Archos is working on a successor of its GamePad tablet, with such device earning a spot at the FCC’s website. Unfortunately, we’re not sure what kind of hardware this thing sports under the hood but we’re sure it’s more powerful than its predecessor. Of course, we would like to see it sporting some super-fast processor like Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or NVIDIA Tegra 4, but alas – that probably won’t be the case. Archos is known to make affordable gear and using such powerful CPUs would make the tablet much more expensive. So we’re rooting for some decent quad-core SoC made by Qualcomm, or more likely – MediaTek.

As for when Archos will announce the new GamePad 2, it’s fair to assume they’re eyeing the upcoming IFA in Berlin when we’ll also see the hot-new Samsung Galaxy Note III. So we expect to get back to you with additional information within the next few weeks. Stay tuned…
