Droid X gets an update after year and a half break

Just when we thought Verizon and Motorola forgot about the three-year-old Droid X, an update has been released. Yes, that’s a year and half after the phone got its previous software release.

The new software brings firmware version to 45.621.10.MB810.Verizon.en.US and it’s a maintenance release that doesn’t come with major feature enhancements. Included in the deal are security tweaks and improvements to the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS).

Yeah we suggest every Droid X owner out there to update his/her device, but even more – we would advise them to experiment with third-party software builds that can put some new life into this rather old phone…
