We first got word of Archos’ GamePad successor, the GamePad 2 a few months ago, and a new press image and spec sheet have surfaced confirming the new Android gaming tablet. The GamePad 2 will share the same form factor as the original GamePad, but will have an improved processor, more memory and RAM.

According to the spec sheet, the GamePad 2 will be touting the following specs:

  • CPU – 1.6GHz quad-core CPU
  • GPU – Quad-core (unknown vendor)
  • Storage – 8 and 16GB, microSD for expansion up to 64GB
  • Screen – 7″ IPS capacitive touch-screen, 1280 x 800 resolution

If you are a fan of the original GamePad, then Archos’ newest offering could be right up your alley. We’re still not sure when the device will be available for purchase, although we should see a price point of $200.
