Sony Xperia Z1 is heading to Canada where it will be available at some point in October. It is said that all three major carriers — Rogers, Bell and TELUS — will sell it, and users will also be able to get the phone unlocked and use it sans any strings attached.

Unfortunately we don’t know how much each of the carriers will ask for Sony’s latest flagship but it’s likely it won’t be cheap.

For those of you who missed it, the Xperia Z1 is a successor to the Xperia Z. It comes with a faster quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) clocked at 2.2GHz, and a much better camera with a 20.7MP Exmor RS sensor and f/2.0 G Lens aperture.

Rest of the specs include a full HD Triluminos display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 3000mAh internal battery. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show out of box, with Android 4.3 and 4.4 updates likely coming later in the year.

The device will be available in black, white and purple though certain color variants will be exclusive to certain carriers. For instance, Rogers will get the purple model and we assume some other operator will get the white variant. We’ll see…
