It’s almost time for Google to unveil the highly anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat, which means leaks and rumors increasing in frequency (as if we haven’t had enough already). A new screenshot of the Downloads app on KitKat have made their way to our machines today, showing a bit of a graphical redesign that has grabbed our attention.
As you can see from the picture below, the downloads app design is in line with Jelly Bean’s Holo theme, but in a lighter color. Holo Light is pictured, whereas Holo Dark is currently used. The lighter theme aligns with other Google Apps.
The Downloads icon is a bit flatter than its predecessor, and looks much cleaner as well. The action bar has two new icons, one with three bars and the other with four square dots which make a (you guessed it!) square. These icons are most likely for lists and sorting options, something like the action bar we see in Google Drive.
So, what do you think of the redesign? We’re still not sure yet when Android 4.4 KitKat will be unveiled, but the rumor mill is claiming that will happen very, very soon.
