Well here’s a juicy rumor! Samsung is said to be launching the Galaxy S5 in January, in an attempt to make up for falling Galaxy S4 sales.
If this rumor holds any water, we could be seeing Sammy revealing the GS5 at CES in Las Vegas. But maybe not- Samsung has the reputation for throwing its own press events instead of opting for trade shows.
The GS5 will reportedly be rocking a 16MP camera and a Samsung Exynos processor, possibly of the eight core variety.
As for what we may see packing into the GS5, I think it’s safe to look at the recently announced Japan only Galaxy J handset, which spec wise is a beefed up GS4. The Galaxy J It has the same 5-inch full HD screen, 13-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, and LTE connectivity support. The Galaxy J also comes with a Snapdragon 800 chip and 3GB of RAM. This model will launch by the end of this month in three color versions — Coral Pink, Satin White and Lapis Blue — each of which has a matching physical home button.
The GS5 could also have some features of the Galaxy Note 3, such as the leather backside. Let’s just hope it doesn’t adopt the curved shape of the Galaxy Round.
Time will tell if this rumor holds true, we’ll surely be hearing more with January fast approaching.
