LG plans to make its new tablet, G Pad 8.3, available in 20 additional markets by the end of the year.

The fancy tablet was launched last month in the US and various European countries. The idea now is to reach even more customers in other places all around the world, whole helping LG grow its market share.

Apple keeps dominating the tablet sphere with 27.1% of the market. Samsung comes in second at 20.2%, followed by Asus (6.8%) and Lenovo (4.4%). LG holds just 0.2% at present but with devices as nice as G Pad 8.3, it stands a chance to grow its share.

Also in the third quarter, LG lost its third place in the smartphone market to Lenovo and Huawei, despite selling 12 million handsets. Going forward, the company will slightly shift its focus to TVs where it has a stronger chance of making money. Smartphones, however, will remain an important business for the Korean company…
