The recently leaked Oppo R1 has been officially announced in China, where it will be offered for 2,498 yuan (around $411). The mid-end phone looks sexier than many (if not all) competing products, boasting a 7.1-thin, sexy-lookin’ body.
Inside, the R1 packs MediaTek’s 1.3GHz MT6582 processor coupled with PowerVR SGX544 graphics, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, HSPA + Wi-Fi connectivity, 2,419 mAh battery and 16GB of expandable storage. An array of “standard for Android” sensors comes included, as well.
The Chinese company failed to mention whether the R1 will follow N1’s and Find 5’s footsteps and be offered all around the world. Perhaps their strategy is to keep only the best products for the West, perhaps not. We’ll have to wait and see…
