We’ve told you that OnePlus is preparing to unveil something important at CES and voila – we’ve got their press release announcing partnership with makers of CyanogenMod, Cyanogen Inc. From the same document we learn that the company’s first smartphone, OnePlus One, will be released in the first half of the year.

Unfortunately, no other details were given, leaving us pondering what this phone will be all about. As far as we’ve understood, the Oppo spinoff doesn’t want to compromise on hardware and will launch a top-end product featuring all the latest bells and whistles. This in turn should make a device we’ll want to “settle” with; at least until the OnePlus Two is out.

The OnePlus one will “launch in select markets and expand to more global availability.” In other words, we’re clueless which markets will be the first to get OnePlus’ upcoming super-phone; considering their roots, the chances are they’ll start with China and take it from there.
