Last time we talked about CSR, they managed to develop keyboard as thin as a sheet of paper. This time round they’re going for the fashion industry, unveiling the technology that will enable Bluetooth smart jewelry.

So the pendant-style connected necklaces was born, featuring integrated electronics that allows users to customize the color and brightness emitted to suit their mood or to coordinate with a particular outfit. Naturally, it also comes with technology that supports a range of functions to alert users to new notifications on their smartphones.

The jewelry, which BTW was designed in conjunction with boutique jeweler Cellini, combines top-quality design with connectivity powered by CSR’s Bluetooth Smart solution – the CSR1012. The battery-friendly platform is also designed to enable small form factors, making it ideal for wearable accessories.

Add support for Apple’s Notification Center Service (ANCS) to the mix, and you can see where this is going. Before we know it, everyone will be wearing some smart accessory around their neck and/or wrist. Sounds promising and freaky at the same time. 😉
