Samsung is yet again embracing the Olympics with its own app. Dubbed Samsung WOW (Wireless Olympic Works), the application is designed to make it easier to keep up with latest sports news coming from the big event in Russia. It has few components that allow fans to “design their own Olympic Winter Games experience”:

  • Ability to personalize your own Olympic Winter Games updates plan – you can select which Games-time updates will be pushed to your phone, ranging from medal counts to big moments. There’s also the cheering service for supporting your favorite athletes and countries.
  • Share your celebrations with social network features – you can upload text and images, and share them with other WOW users as well as other social networks.
  • Learn about Olympic sports with an interactive, visual guide – the application offers information on all 15 winter sports at Sochi 2014 through graphic user interface.
  • Your local guide – if you’re visiting Sochi for the Olympic Winter Games, you can use the app to guide you through the venue.

Finally, Samsung wants us to know that it will provide around 18,000 mobile devices to the Olympic Family, including executives, staff, and officials from the IOC, National Olympic Committees and organizing committees in Sochi…
