Asus keeps pushing its Padfone concept forward. After launching the Padfone Mini and Padfone X, the Taiwanese company unveiled Padfone E in Taiwan.
Similar to the Padfone 2, this model comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS screen (phone) and 10.1-inch tablet dock. Inside, it packs Qualcomm’s 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, HSPA+ connectivity, while Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is running the show. There’s also a 13-megapixel camera with f2.4 aperture and LED flash on the phone’s back, 1.2-megapixel front shooter (1MP on the tablet dock) and dual-SIM capability. The phone part has a 1820 mAh battery, while the Padfone station rocks a massive 5000 mAh battery.
Asus will sell the Padfone E in Taiwan for 16,980 TWD ($560). No word whether this model will ever be available in other parts of the world, though. And we’ve no idea whether the ever-useful keyboard dock will be released…
