Intel will apparently use Mobile World Congress to unveil a new generation of its mobile chips. Details are scarce at the moment, but the information VR-Zone got suggests we’ll see a new line of 64-bit Atom chips for Android and Merrifield Atom processors that are often found in Windows tablets. Both of these should find their way to real-world products at some point in the second half of the year.

In addition, we would also expect the chip giant to show us some of the best dual-boot devices at its, usually huge stand in Barcelona. While I personally love this capability, I still haven’t seen a dual-boot laptop I would want to buy. Perhaps Intel and its OEM partners surprise us with something extraordinary?

Let’s face it, Intel had hard time competing in the mobile space, and it really needs to up its game if it wants to stay relevant in this market, currently dominated by Qualcomm and an increasingly growing numbers of handset makers which make their own chips. We’ll see how that goes…
