Just the other day we’ve told you that it will be feasible to cram Google’s apps and services to Nokia X smartphones. Now we’re hearing that the opposite will be possible, as well – to run Nokia apps on other Android smartphones.
Everything started with few savvy developers over at XDA forums who managed to make Nokia Store run on just about any Android smartphone. This, of course, is just the first step in bringing the entire suite of “made in Finland” applications to the wider community. Perhaps the most interesting part would be to make HERE maps run on every single Android device out there. While I prefer Google Maps, I love HERE’s offline navigation support.
It’s important to note that we haven’t tried to install Nokia Store on our phones, but the process doesn’t sound that complicated. You are free to join the discussion and eventually add another app store to your Android smartphone from here. Good luck. 😉
