It’s official, Samsung’s new Chromebook will be clad in faux leather just like its cousin the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung’s Chromebook 2 Series not only pack a wallop with the Exynos 5 Octa processor on board but convey a sleek stylishness that propels the budget minded Chromebook into premium laptop territory. Samsung revealed the details of the new Chromebook 2 series Monday.

The Chromebook 2 will come in two models with different processor speeds and screen sizes. One model will rock a 11.6 inch display with the processor clocked at 1.9GHZ, and the other will have a 13.3 inch display with its processor clocked at 2.1GHz. Both units will come with 4GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and a 720p HD webcam. Both Chromebooks sport one USB 3.0 slot, one USB 2.0 slot, a combination headphone-out/microphone-in port and a HDMI port to top it all off. The 13.3 inch Chromebook 2 will come in Luminous Titan Grey, and the 11.6 inch unit will come in Jet Black or Classic White.

As stated above, Samsung has decided to encase the lid of the Chromebook 2 series in a textured faux leather with stitching around the perimeter, just as was predicted. It’s a bold move for Samsung, and could help the adoption of Chromebooks along quite nicely.

The Chromebook 2 series is expected to arrive in April, and will be priced at $319.99 for the 11.6 inch model and $399.99 for the 13.3 inch model.
