It took a while for Verizon to pony up and release the 2013 version of the Nexus 7, which landed on Big Red last February, the 13th in fact. Verizon has done its customers a solid by dropping the price of the 32 GB Nexus 7 from $249.99 to $49.99 today in conjunction with a new two-year contract. Off-contact, the Nexus 7 runs $349.99 from Verizon.

The 2013 edition of the Nexus 7 is still an incredible tablet 7 months after its release. In order to grab the device for $49.99, you’ll have to shell out $10 a month to add it to your Share Everything Plan, as well as a $35 activation fee. The $49.99 is due at the time of purchase, while the $35 activation fee will show up on your next wireless bill.
