Apple may equip its upcoming iPhone 6 with few additional sensors for pressure, temperature and humidity, G4Games is reporting. Citing news chief analyst at ESM-China Sun Chang Xu and its sources close to the matter, the report says that with this move the Cupertino-based company will catch up with its competitors in the “sensors department.”
Samsung is the current king of sensors with its Galaxy S5 being the first phone to rock a heart rate sensor. Apple on the other hand will leave that part for its (also upcoming) iWatch which will be touted as a fitness companion device… and a fancy-lookin’ gadget many folks will want to buy, we presume.
Earlier rumors suggested Cook & Co. will cram a number of fitness features in iOS 8 and even launch a dedicated Healthbook app to allow users to keep track of their workouts. The fact that such big company is entering this market is big news for the industry though it remains to be seen how it will affect other players…
