Now that Samsung has announced the Galaxy S5, they’re looking to expand the family. Apparently, the next phone in the series will be the Galaxy S5 Zoom, which according to GSMarena, could be announced as early as next week.
It is said that this model will come in a slimmer than Galaxy S4 Zoom body, while boasting a 20-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Xenon flash. Moreover, it will have the same 10x optical zoom despite the more pocket friendly form factor.
Rest of the specs are rumored to include a 4.8-inch 720p HD screen, 2GB of RAM, 1.6GHz quad-core processor (not hexa-core one as we’ve heard before), while Android 4.4 KitKat will run the show right from the get-go. Additionally, we expect Sammy to preload a ton of its software on the S5 Zoom with an emphasis on camera apps.
While the phone’s design is still a mystery, chances are it will be boast a Galaxy S5- and Note 3-like faux leather on the back. No word on pricing yet…
