File this under “rumors,” cause we don’t have this from LG. However, chances are the Korean company will launch the KitKat update for its last year’s flagship, Optimus G, this summer.
The information, in case you wonder, comes from the French operator SFR that says LG will skip three Android versions, and go straight to the latest version of Android, jumping from the platform version 4.1 to 4.4. That would be an historic precedent and the proof that LG has got its act together when it comes to phone updates.
As I’m writing this, the Optimus G is stuck to Android 4.1.2, despite having the same hardware as the Nexus 4. Why LG failed to launch timely updates is beyond me. This is the easiest way to lose customers.
Alas, things are changing apparently, as we can see the G2 got its serving of KitKats last week. The same goes for the G Flex which is next in line to get the Android 4.4 goodies…
