BlackBerry Q30 Windermere caught in the wild, looks kinda awkward with that narrow keyboard

The previously rumored BlackBerry Windermere has been caught in the wild and, boy, it looks awkward. Call me crazy, but that narrow keyboard looks strange below that big, 4.5-inch screen, which will reportedly have resolution of 1440×1440 pixels.

I love the idea of combining the big screen with physical keyboard, but is this the best way to accomplish that? I’m not so sure. Then again, I would have to try out Windermere before reaching to any conclusions.

To make it for an easier transition to this form factor, BlackBerry made sure its keyboard can also detect touch input and, we would assume, gestures.

Meanwhile, let’s recap what we know about this BlackBerry smartphone – aside from the mentioned big-ass screen (for a QWERTY phone, at least), it will also sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, along with a non-removable 3,450 mAh battery. It remains to be seen whether this sort of device will help BlackBerry regain some of the market share it lost to Android rivals.
