Samsung keeps announcing new devices like it’s nobody’s business. And yes, we’re having hard time keeping up with all of their different series and models.
Their latest phone is called Galaxy Core Lite and it’s one of those devices you should know about only to never buy it. I understand Samsung’s desire to cover every possible price point but launching a phone with a 4.7-inch WVGA (that’s 480 x 800 pixels) screen doesn’t make much sense. Or at least that’s the way I see things.
Awful screen aside, this unit also comes with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 8GB of expandable storage and a 2,000 mAh battery. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is running the show with Samsung’s own TouchWIZ software singing on top.
The first country to get the Galaxy Core Lite will be Taiwan, where it will be sold for whopping 7,988 TWD (about $266). That’s a lot of money for what you get in exchange. Not sure what Sammy was smoking thinking…
