Amazon has updated its Kindle app to make it more audiobook friendly. The new version of the application comes with Audible integration, allowing you to both read and listen to books. You can start by reading, switch to listening and get back to reading with the Kindle app knowing exactly where you left off. This magic, in case you wonder, happens thanks to Amazon’s Whispersync for Voice technology.
Alas, this feature doesn’t come free of charge. In order to get the Audible version of the Kindle ebook you already own, you’ll have to pay anywhere between $0.99 and $3.99. The more popular the book, the more it will cost. So yes, bestsellers in The Hunger Games trilogy won’t be yours until you pay 4 bucks per book.
Overall, there are more than 45,000 professionally narrated Audible titles in the Kindle library, so we do think you’ll find something of interest. As for your existing Kindle library, you’ll be able to find Audible counterpart of every ebook you own using Amazon’s Matchmaker service. Love it! 🙂
